Chess Wizards has been teaching the game of chess since 2002. Join us this summer for tons of challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes. You'll improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain! Our camps include fun team chess games (like Corner Chess), recess time (of course), snacks, tournaments, and puzzles. Each camper receives a T-shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder. We include all the materials necessary for your child to participate, but full day kids should bring a lunch. Unleash your brain power and spend part of your vacation with Chess Wizards!

We offer a unique camp experience that focuses on promoting campers physical, intellectual, and social skills through a variety of high-quality programs. Campers will experience traditional camp activities, enrichment clubs, swimming, sports, active play, indoor and outdoor games, arts, crafts, nature and science. Camp enrollment also includes a weekly field trip to exciting destinations like Massanutten l. Camp Shenandoah is inclusive to all skills and abilities and campers are encouraged to try new and exciting activities in a positive and engaging environment. A nutritious breakfast and lunch are provided through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Transportation is provided to and from camp from June 17 to July 19. Stops will be limited (within school districts), are not the same as the school year and cannot be changed. City residents attending Camp Shenandoah that are planning to use camp transportation must enroll at a location within their school district. Clark & Burnley Moran; Greenbrier & Venable; Jackson-Via & Johnson. Transportation is not provided July 22 to August 9.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to register for camp. With your registration, please indicate if you will need accommodations when prompted. All participants are required to follow the rules of conduct outlined in the program guidelines. Camp Blue Ridge provides an exciting camp experience designed to keep 10-12 year olds active and engaged. Campers will develop a desire to explore beyond one's comfort zone through a variety of activities, games and sports. Each week is action packed and includes a trip to a City pool and a field trip. Field trips range from a water park adventure to kayaking on a lake. Are you looking for a great way to end your summer? Ultimate Adventure Camp will give your camper the opportunity to enjoy their last few days of summer as we jam-pack the week with field trips! Campers can participate in many different activities as they “ad-venture” out into the Charlottesville community and beyond. The schedule and parent packet will be emailed to all participants in mid-July. The camp fee includes field trip admission and field trip transportation. Campers must pack their own lunch for this camp. Breakfast and lunch will not be provided. This camp does not provide transportation for campers to and from camp. Financial assistance is available through our Scholarship Program. Weekly fee of $125.00 for residents and $200.00 for non-residents.
