Camp Blue Ridge (Week 5) - Burnley Moran Elementary School

Camp Blue Ridge provides an exciting camp experience designed to keep 10-12 year olds active and engaged. Campers will develop a desire to explore beyond one's comfort zone through a variety of activities, games and sports. Each week is action packed and includes a trip to a City pool and a field trip. Field trips range from a water park adventure to kayaking on a lake. Camp Blue Ridge is inclusive to all skills and abilities and campers are encouraged to try new and exciting activities in a positive and engaging environment. A nutritious breakfast and lunch are provided through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Transportation is provided to and from camp from June 17 to July 19. Stops will be limited (within school districts), are not the same as the school year and cannot be changed. Transportation is not provided July 22 to August 9.

Inclusion Program:
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to register for camp. With your registration, please indicate if you will need accommodations when prompted. A two-week notice is requested in order for the Department to make reasonable accommodations based on individual needs for successful inclusion. You will be contacted by a staff member to further discuss how we can help your child have a positive camp experience. All participants are required to follow the rules of conduct outlined in the program guidelines. Any camper, whether they have or have not identified special needs, may be removed from a program if after interventions and accommodations their behavior is a direct threat to property, themselves or others. Participants should be willing to actively participate in the program the majority of the time. We are not able to provide one-to-one assistance and our inclusion counselors rotate from group to group during the day. Successful campers should have the ability to function with occasional assistance as a member of a group of 10 or more campers.
