This fitness class will combine cardio, strength and flexibility for a total body workout! Be sure to wear workout attire and bring a mat and water.

Come get in shape and enjoy the spring weather with our walking and jogging club. We will finish the program in April with a fun run/walk or community event to celebrate our hard work throughout the winter.

Join us as we learn about Asling Flower Farm, their flowers, their growing process, basic bouquet design, and more. Each participant will create their own bouquet of flowers to take home. This event will be outside, weather permitting. Bring a packed lunch so that we can all enjoy a picnic lunch together. Enjoy conversation with friends and don't forget about showing off your beautiful creations for all to see.

All Levels
Join us once a month to visit and support local restaurants in the community. We will enjoy great conversation, build friendships, and practice various life skills. Participants will be responsible for their own meals, so be sure to bring money as we will practice money management, and other important monetary life skills. Staff will be available for assistance. Restaurant will be decided closer to date of program. Transportation will be provided. Pick-up and Drop-off will be at Crow Recreation Center.

Join us on an adventure through Shenandoah Caverns. After a tour of the caverns we will visit American Celebration on Parade where we will see a large display of various parade floats that have been in large parades. Pack a lunch as we will enjoy a picnic lunch together at the Caverns.

Join us for a morning on the river with Rivanna River Company to learn basic paddle techniques, the flow of the river, situational paddling, etc. This will be an out and back trip on the river starting and ending at Rivanna River Company.
Bring a packed lunch so that we can enjoy a picnic lunch together.

Come beat the summer heat at the Adaptive Recreation Pool Party! We will swim before the pool opens to the public and at 11 am, will serve pizza. Space is limited and registration is required (no day of walk ins), so sign up early and please let us know if you have to cancel for any reason. Please note, supervision is not provided and participants needing assistance should come with an aide.

Join us the last Wednesday of the month at Northside Library as we read a story together and complete an activity. This program is free, but please register so we make sure we have an accurate number of materials available.

Join us for Adaptive Yoga with UVA Med Students. We will practice and learn breathing techniques, mindfulness, and a combination of yoga poses and basic stretches to promote flexibility and strength throughout the body. This will be a fun and relaxing way to exercise. Please bring your own mat if you have one and a water bottle.

Hoping to host class outside at IX Park as much as possible, locations may vary depending on the weather. If forced inside due to weather, class will be held at Key Recreation Center.

Join us for a night out in Downtown Charlottesville. Dr. Temple Grandin will be visiting the Paramount as she presents on "Great Minds Are Not All The Same." Dr. Grandin is a prominent author who speaks around the world on Autism and animal behavior.
Drop off will be at Key Recreation Center. We will walk as a group downtown, enjoy dinner together at Lucky Blues, then walk to the Paramount for the show starting at 7:00 PM. Dinner and ticket to the theater are included in the cost of registration. Bring money for snacks/drinks at the theater. Pick-up will be out front of the Paramount.

Spend the day with your friends going out to eat and seeing a movie. Movie will be decided closer to the date of the showing. Please note, program times may vary slightly due to available show times. Lunch and movie ticket included in fee. Bring money for snacks at the theater. Drop off and pick up will be at various locations in Charlottesville.

Join your Adaptive Recreation friends as we go Strawberry Picking at Chiles Orchard. Bring a pint home with you to enjoy with your family. Eat lunch before you come. We will enjoy a treat together at the farm.

Levels 1 & 2
Spend a hot summer day cooling off while floating down the Rivanna River! We will hit the river with our tubes and float for a few hours, enjoying the water. Pack a picnic lunch and be sure to bring a towel, hat, sunscreen, and change of clothes.

Join your Adaptive Recreation friends for a day on the Downtown mall. We will enjoy lunch together and then visit the Live Arts building for a Matinee showing of the musical "The Lightening Thief: Percy Jackson Musical." Lunch & show tickets are included. Bring money for snacks/drinks at the theater. Drop-off and Pick-up will be at Key Recreation Center.

Stand-up paddle boarding is a great activity that anyone can do and is sure to bring lots of laughs! Trained staff will be there to help with our sunset paddle on a local lake and dinner will be provided afterwards.

Join Adaptive Rec and UVA Med students for a Zumba class on Tuesday evenings in May. Grab your dancing shoes, workout clothes, and a water bottle and come work up a sweat with us.

We will plan to host this class outside at IX Park, weather permitting. If inside, we will be at Key Recreation Center.

Camp Crow is for campers ages 6-13 who need more support than a traditional summer camp can provide. Campers will participate in a variety of activities to include outdoor adventures, games, field trips, arts and crafts and more. Open to city and county residents. Participants must be independent in personal care, will be expected to manage their own behaviors with minimal staff intervention and must have a desire to participate in programming. Campers requiring 1:1 assistance are welcome with their own aide who serves as a “volunteer” and must adhere to department volunteer policies/procedures, which may include completion of a criminal background check.
Acceptance to Adaptive Recreation Summer Camps is based on a review by the Adaptive Recreation Manager and Camp Director. Decisions are made considering age of camper; social, emotional and physical needs of camper; and staffing ratios.
No camp June 19, July 4 & 5.

Camp Henry is for campers ages 14-22 who need more support than a traditional summer camp can provide. Campers will participate in a variety of activities to include outdoor adventures, games, field trips, arts and crafts and more. Open to city and county residents. Participants must be independent in personal care, will be expected to manage their own behaviors with minimal staff intervention and must have a desire to participate in programming. Level 1
Join us for an outdoor adventure filled with swimming, hiking, nature talks and animal encounters, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, camping and more! We will be sleeping in tents and enjoying the great outdoors, making enough memories to last a lifetime! All meals provided and more information will be sent after registration.

In order to attend overnight trips, participants must have attended day programs prior and been approved for overnights by Adaptive Recreation Staff.

STRIKE! Join us for two games of bowling at Bowlero Bowling Alley, games and shoe rental are included. The kitchen will open at 12:00 pm, so bring money for food and drinks if you would like. Drop off and pick up will be at Bowlero.
